South Wins Four Of Five WBCA Girls All-Star Games

The 45th annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games were held on Wednesday, June 29 at JustAgame Fieldhouse in Wisconsin Dells. 

DIVISION 5: SOUTH 68, NORTH 51

The South All-Stars led by 14 points at the break and went on to win 68-51 in the Division 5 WBCA All-Star Game. Highlighting the South squad were Sheboygan's Lutheran's Rose Hahn and Wauzeka-Steuben's Maddy Reichmann, a UW-Platteville commit, who tallied 17 and 15 points, respectively. The North squad was led by McDonell Central's Lauryn Deetz who netted 13 points.

DIVISION 4: SOUTH 63, NORTH 54

The South squad jumped out to a 33-20 lead at halftime and went on post a 63-54 victory over the North All-Stars. Racine Lutheran's Nevaiah Bell-Tenner, an NAIA Culver Stockton College signee, scored a game-high 18 points, including connecting on three 3-pointers to lead the South All-Stars. Mineral Point's Mallory Lindsey, an NCAA Divison III UW-Oshkosh recruit, also reached double-figures for the South squad, tallying 14 points with four triples in the contest. The North All-Stars were led by Marathon's Allison Wokatsch, an NCAA Division III UW-Platteville recruit, who finished with 11 points.

DIVISION 3: SOUTH 64, NORTH 63

In the Division 3 WBCA All-Star Game, the South All-Stars led by 11 points at halftime and held on for a 64-63 win over the North All-Stars. Watertown Luther Prep's Grace Schmidt, an NCAA Division I California Baptist signee, scored a team-best 18 points to lead the South All-Stars. Joining her in double-figures for the South squad was Catholic Memorial's Grace Lomen, an NCAA Divison II UW-Parkside signee, who netted 12 points. The North All-Stars were led by Chilton's Olivia Hoerl who tallied 18 points, tying Schmidt for the most in the contest.

DIVISION 2: SOUTH 74, NORTH 64

The South All-Stars trailed by five points at the break before outscoring the North squad 27-4 in the third quarter and winning the contest 74-64. Pewaukee's Sarah Newcomer, an NCAA Division II Northern Michigan University, led all scorers with 17 points, including knocking down five three-pointers for the South squad. Also reaching double-figures for the South All-Stars were Waukesha West's Ashlyn Yow, an NCAA Division II Metropolitan State University of Denver signee, and Pewaukee's Lia Chudzik, an NAIA St. Xavier University signee, who tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively. Menomonie's Emma Mommsen, an NCAA Division II Concordia St. Paul signee, who scored 10 points.

DIVISION 1: NORTH 75, SOUTH 57

In the final WBCA All-Star Game, the North squad was victorious after the South All-Stars won the first four games of the day. The North All-Stars had four players score in double-figures, led by Madison La Follette's Demetria Prewitt, an NJCAA Division II Kirkwood Community College signee, who finished with a game-high 20 points. The South All-Stars got 12 points apiece from Kettle Moraine's Lily Randgaard, an NCAA Division I Western Illinois University signee, and Waunakee's Ashley Sawicki, an NCAA Division II St. Cloud State University signee.
