Semifinals

#1 Howards Grove (19-1) vs. #4 Osseo-Fairchild (8-5) - 1 p.m.

#2 Waterloo (25-4) vs. #3 Fall Creek (16-2)  - 4 p.m.          

Championship - 7:30 p.m.

LAST YEAR:  Howards Grove claimed the Division 3 crown by defeating Aquinas 3-0 in the title match.

ABOUT THE GIRLS DIVISION 3 FIELD:  Defending champion Howards Grove was issued the top seed in the bracket. The Tigers are making their fifth appearance at State.  Second-seeded Waterloo returns to the tournament field for the second year in a row and for the fifth time overall.  Third-seeded Fall Creek is making its second straight appearance after qualifying for the State Tournament for the first time last season.  This year, they advance to the semifinals following their 3-0 win over Grantsburg in the sectional final. The Crickets placed second in the Western Division of the Cloverbelt Conference this year behind Division 4 qualifier McDonell Catholic. Fourth-seeded Osseo-Fairchild is the only team in the Division 3 field that didn’t participate in the tournament last season. The Thunder will experience the State Tournament for the first time. They earned their initial berth by ousting Cochrane-Fountain City 3-1 in the sectional final.  The Thunder placed seventh in the Western Division of the Cloverbelt Conference that includes Division 3 qualifier Fall Creek and Division 4 qualifier McDonell Catholic.
