Matson Named To UW-Claire's Baseball Staff

UW-Eau Claire head baseball coach Patrick Reilly has announced his coaching staff for the 2024 season.

One of those is Logan Matson, a 2018 Neillsville High School graduate who most recently played for UW-Stevens Point, helping them to the final four of the NCAA Division III College World Series.   Logan also served as an assistant coach for the Auburn DoubleDays in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League during the 2023 season. 

Also named as assistants,  Bob Johnson, who led the Eau Claire North baseball team to a pair of championships as head coach, and Jeff Dykes, who helped Regis win two titles as pitching coach, are joining the Blugolds as assistant coaches for the 2024 season. Also joining head coach Reilly’s staff will be Derek Baumgartner, fresh off a playing career at Winona State University. 

Reilly's assistants bring plenty of high-level playing and coaching experience from around the state and beyond. Baumgartner will work with the Blugolds' catchers, Dykes will coach the pitchers, Johnson will work with the outfielders and Matson will coach infielders.
