Saturday morning Divisions 2 and 3 had their semi-final matches....

Division 2

#2 Prairie du Chien 45, #3 Baldwin-Woodville 21

Division 3

Match 2 - #2 Shiocton 42, #3 Cedar Grove-Belgium 25

Champions were then crowned in the three divisions  at the State Team Wrestling Tournament Saturday afternoon at the UW Field House.

Top-seeded Kaukauna (14-0) broke a 26-26 tie by winning the final three weight classes of the bout to post a 41-26 victory over Marshfield in the Division 1 championship match.  The Tigers recorded three pins in the match, including Jon Sternweis at 113, Easton Ledden at 120 and Hoyt Blaskowski at 145.  Kaukauna now has seven State championships in its possession with its membership-leading 21 tourney appearances. Marshfield (18-5) finishes runner-up in its first appearance in the championship match and seventh tourney experience.

Last year’s Division 2 runner-up and top seed Luxemburg-Casco (20-0) capped an undefeated season this season with a 37-20 win over Prairie du Chien in the title match.  Luxemburg-Casco won its 13th State championship, which ranks second-most of any program in team tournament history.

Fennimore (17-0), the #1 seed in the bracket, successfully defended the Division 3 title it won last year with 43-18 win over Shiocton in the championship final.  Fennimore has now won four State titles in its eight State Tournament appearances. Shiocton (23-4) places second in its eighth tournament experience.
