The Neillsville girls basketball team saw their season come to end at the Resch Center in Green Bay on Thursday night in a Division 4 State Semi-Final, losing to Laconia 50-39.

The Warriors played the Spartans close for much of the first half until a late spurt put Laconia up by 5 at the half 22-17.

Laconia would go ahead by as many as 17 in the second half before Neillsville rallied and cut the deficit to 5 late in the second half, but they were forced to foul and Laconia converted their freethrows to hang on for the win.

Neillsville was led by senior Emma Moseley who had 10 points,  Mia Trunkel and Paige Voigt each had 7.    Payton Morgan led Laconia with 12 points.

Neither team shot that well from the field as the Warriors shot 29.7% and the Spartans 35.7%.  The Warriors were out-rebounded 38-24.

Neillsville finishes their season at 26-3 while Laconia improves to 25-4 and will now play unbeaten Mineral Point in the Division 4 State Championship on Saturday.
