Loyal Moves Into Tie For First In ECC

After a 49-34 win over Columbus Catholic on Monday, the Loyal Greyhound girls basketball team is now tied with Neillsville atop the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference.The Hounds led by one, 15-14 at the half despite committing 18 turnovers. They used a 24-3 run in the second half to pull away in what was a close game until then.
Remi Geiger led Loyal with 13 points and Bailey Bravener finished with 10. Addison Baierl had 19 points for the Dons.
Loyal is now 7-1 in the ECC, tied with Neillsville for first place. Those two teams will play each other next Friday (1/31) in Loyal.
Loyal's Remi Geiger continues to hold the top spot in Division 5 in the latest WIAA Girls Basketball 3-Point Challenge Leaderboard. The top two players in each division based on shooting percentage (min. 75 attempts) will be selected to participate in the 3-Point Challenge on Saturday, March 14th at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
