Neillsville Tops Spencer/Friday Scoreboard

The Neillsville boys basketball took over first place in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference after a 63-46 win over Spencer on Friday night...Spencer led 28-27 at halftime, but the Warriors defense held them to just 18 points in the second half.
Neillsville had a 5 point lead with 2 1/2 minutes left before Monte Diestler hit three 3-pointers in row and Braden Trunkel hit another and Neillsville was up 61-45. Neillsville's Alex King led all scorers with 28 points, Trunkel and Diestler finished 13 and 10, respectively. Brett Kasch led the Rockets with 13 points. Neillsville improves to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the ECC. Spencer falls to 7-2 overall and 6-1 in the ECC.
