Gilman's Krizan Wins 8 Player Defensive Player of the Year/Christensen Wins Offensive Award

Julian Krizan of Gilman has been selected as the 2020 8-Player Football Defensive Player of the Year by WisSports.net.   

Krizan was among the state leaders with 97 tackles for the Pirates, who went unbeaten in the regular season before falling to Belmont in an extra game.  Julian played nside linebacker and recorded nine sacks this season on defense, while also serving as the team's quarterback on offense he threw 11 touchdowns while rushing for 14 scores.

Riley Christensen of Belmont has been selected as the 2020 8-Player Football Offensive Player of the Year by WisSports.net.    He led the state in rushing with 1,372 yards and 26 touchdowns on 118 carries (11.6 yard average), and greatly improved his passing this season, completing 67.3% of his passes for 478 yards and nine scores with no interceptions.

Other finalists for the award included Cooper Bredlau of Greenwood, Charlie McCarty of Newman Catholic, and Tanner Opsal of McDonell Central.
