Champions Crowned In Madison

7 champions were crowned at the WIAA State Football Championships in Madison on Thursday and Friday...

DIVISION 7
Black Hawk (13-0) completed an unbeaten season by winning the Division 7 championship with a 22-15 victory over previously undefeated Edgar (13-1) at the State Football Finals Thursday at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

DIVISION 6
Iola-Scandinavia (13-0) capped an undefeated season with a convincing 43-13 win over Racine Lutheran (11-3). The Thunderbirds earned their first State title in four appearances in the championship game.

DIVISION 5
The beat goes on for Head Coach Bob Hyland and St. Mary’s Springs (14-0), which wins its eighth State championship with a 20-17 comeback victory over Stratford.

DIVISION 4
Racine St. Catherine’s (14-0) capped an unbeaten season with an 8-7 win over previously undefeated St. Croix Central (13-1) in the Division 4 championship game.
The Angels won the title in their first-ever State finals appearance.

DIVISION 3
Catholic Memorial (13-1) won the Division 3 championship of the State Football Finals with a come-from-behind 37-24 victory over West De Pere (13-1) Friday at Camp Randall Stadium.

DIVISION 2
Homestead (14-0) capped an undefeated season with a 51-14 win over Brookfield Central (12-2). Homestead wins its third Division 2 crown, and its sixth State championship overall.

DIVISION 1
Muskego (14-0) ended the reign of former four-time defending Division 1 champion Kimberly with a 24-21 triumph over the Papermakers. Muskego wins its first State title in its second experience in the finals.
