Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 -- 10:54 AM

Several area high school boys basketball players were named to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-State Teams....

Division 5
Hayden Baughman of McDonell Central has been a starter on three straight state tournament teams, helping the Macks to a title in 2016 and runner-up finish this year. The 6’5” senior wing player averaged 21.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. The Concordia-St. Paul commit was also an All-State choice last season.

Joe Grundhoffer of Assumption is a two-time Player of the Year in the Marawood-South Conference and three time all-league choice. The 6’6” senior forward, who will play D1 football at Lafayette, averaged 18.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game for the Royals.

Nick Malovrh of Columbus Catholic was a key part of last year’s team that advanced to the state tournament, further improving his game as a senior. He upped his scoring average to 19.7 per game, earning Player of the Year recognition in the Cloverbelt-West Conference.

Division 4
Logan Mulhern of Osseo-Fairchild was named the Player of the Year in the Cloverbelt-West Conference after helping the Thunder to an outright league championship. The 6’2” junior guard averaged 23 points per game for Tim Popple, adding more than 12 rebounds and nearly 5 assists per game as well.

Division 3
A two-time First Team All-Conference choice, Black River Falls senior Ethan Anderson departs as one of the best players in school history. Anderson averaged 27.6 points per game as a senior, finishing his illustrious career with 1,826 points. He also averaged 10.6 rebounds per game in 2017-18 and added 3.0 assists per contest.

Division 1
Stevens Point senior Drew Blair did everything he could to keep the Panthers’ three-year state title run alive, but the team would fall in a sectional final to eventual champion Oshkosh North. Blair finished among state leaders with 28.9 points per game, as he shot 57% from the field and 87% from the free throw line. The Northwest Missouri State recruit would add 6.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game as well, both team bests.
