Friday, February 2nd, 2018 -- 9:43 PM

A floating one-handed jumper in the lane by Alex King with 2 seconds left lifted the Neillsville boys basketball team to a 56-54 win over Loyal on Friday night.

The first half was a see-saw battle throughout with Neillsville leading 36-35. King had 10 points to lead Neillsville while Waylon Froeba led Loyal with 11. The Hounds made 14 of 18 free throws in the half as well.

The second half was just as close with neither team having more than a 4 point lead. Neillsville got a steal with less than a minute left and a couple of 3 point shots rim off before King was able to drive the lane and get the game winner.

King led all scorers with 19 points, Hunter Hand added 10 for the Warriors. Froeba led the Hounds with 13 points, Jordan Radue had 12 and Zach Zimmerman came off the bench with 10 points.

Neillsville improves to 13-3 overall and 9-2 in the Eastern Cloverbelt while Loyal falls to 9-6 overall and 8-2 the ECC.
