Neillsville Girls Improve to 10-1 In ECC

The Neillsville girls basketball team improved to 10-1 in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference after a 51-27 over the Loyal Greyhounds on Tuesday night.

The Warriors got out to a big lead early on and never looked back. They led 36-16 at the half, led by Bella Opelt with 10 points and Sam Cappadora with 9. Remi Geiger had 10 points in the half to lead Loyal.

The second half didn't feature as much scoring as the Warriors outscored the Hounds 15-11. The Warriors were just 3 for 11 from the free throw line in the half and just 11 for 25 in the game.

Cappadora led the Warriors with 13 points, Opelt had 11 and Ali Schoengarth added 10 points. Geiger led the Hounds with 13.

Neillsville remains a half game behind Colby in the ECC at 10-1 while Loyal falls to 5-6 in conference play. Neillsville will be at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption next Tuesday.
