Neillsville Girls Down Gilman

The Neillsville girls basketball team won their 5th in a row beating Gilman on Friday night 60-41.

The Warriors (10-1, 8-1) got out to a big early lead and took a 33-15 lead into the locker room at halftime. Makayla Knuth had the hot hand from the outside hitting three 3-pointers in the half for 9 points, Samantha Cappadora also had 9 points in the half.

The second half was closer as Neillsville only outscored the Pirates (7-5, 5-5) by one at 27-26, but with the big first half lead, they still won by 19.

Cappadora led all scorers with 18, Lauren Mesar had 16 and Knuth added 11 for Neillsville. Camryn Skabroud had five 3 pointers to lead Gilman with 15 points. The Warriors finished 10 for12 from the freethrow line while Gilman made 7 of 15.

Neillsville will host Nekoosa on Tuesday night at the Fieldhouse.
