Lindner's Double Double Leads UW-Milwaukee To Win

Friday, January 12th, 2018 -- 6:08 AM

UW-Milwaukee's Jenny Lindner of Neillsville notched the 16th double-double of her career to lead the way, finishing with a team-high 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting to go with 11 rebounds and three steals in the Panthers 79-72 win over Cleveland St. on Thursday.

Four players scored in double figures as the Panthers flipped a 15-point deficit into a win in front of 2,610 fans on "School Day" at the Klotsche Center.

"To be honest with you, it was Jenny Lindner ??" she flipped the switch for us," coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "She became extremely aggressive and started going after offensive rebounds. We found her and got her the ball. Our team was really great at that today ??" feeding the hot hand. I always say it's like a coin machine, just keep feeding it and Jenny had it there for about a five-minute stretch. It put us in a position that we realized we can play with this team and we can score.

Jamie Reit of Stanley-Boyd had a career-high 16 points, four rebounds, one block and one steal.

The 2,610 fans marks the eighth-largest home crowd in Panther history.

Milwaukee will wrap up its brief two-game home stand Saturday by welcoming Youngstown State to the Klotsche Center for a 2pm contest.
