Neillsville Girls Pick Up 10th Win

The Neillsville girls basketball team improved to 10-1 overall and 7-1 in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference after a 50-24 win over Owen-Withee on Tuesday night.The Warriors got out to big lead and never looked back. They led 24-6 at the half and outscored the Hawks 26-18 in the second half for the win.
Samantha Cappadora led the way for Neillsville with 15 points, Bella Opelt added 12. Brianna Simington was the only girl in double figures for Owen-Withee finishing with 11 points. Neillsville held the conference's leading scorer, Jennifer Wendler, to just 7 points, all in the second half.
Neillsville is now alone in second place in the ECC, a half game behind Colby. Owen-Withee falls into 3rd place in the conference at 6-2. Neillsville will host Gilman on Friday night at the Fieldhouse. You can hear the action live on 92.7 FM WPKG starting at 7:15 pm.
