Dux Hits 1000th Point/Spencer Wins

Neillsville senior Michael Dux reached 1000 career points in a 71-70 loss at Spencer on Thursday night.Dux hit the milestone when he scored his 7th point early in the first half. The game was stopped to recognize the achievement. The Warriors led most of the first half and took a 41-38 into the locker room led by Adam Schmidt and Dux, each with 14 points.
In the second half, Spencer (12-6, 8-5) had the hot hand early and led for most the half by between and 5 and 7 points. Late in the game Neillsville (9-8, 8-5) was able to get close and the lead see-sawed back and forth with neither team leading by no more than 1 or 2 with Spencer leading, when it counted at the end for the win.
Dux finished with a game high 20 points, Jake Kunze added 18 including 10 for 11 from the free throw line and Schmidt had 17 points.
Bobby Pilz and Calvin Lenz each had 19 points to lead Spencer and Jack Bezlyk added 10.
