Brussow Scores 32 To Lead Loyal

Junior Cameron Brussow poured in a game high 32 points to lead the Loyal Greyhounds over the Neillsville Warriors 75-69 in Eastern Cloverbelt boys basketball on Friday night.

Brussow had 17 of those points in a close first half in which Neillsville led 41-40. Jason Kurth connected on four 3-pointers and had 14 first half points to lead the Warriors.

It was the free throw shooting the the Greyhounds down the stretch in the second half that proved to be the difference in their six point win.

Loyal made 18 of 22 foul shots in the second half compared to Neillsville's 8 of 17. The Hounds made 33 of 38 free throws in the game including 15 for 19 by Brussow.

Riley Geiger had 21 points for the Greyhounds and Derrick Howard added 11. Michael Dux led Neillsville with 19 points, followed by Kurth and Adam Schmidt with 14 apiece and Jake Kunze with 12.

Neillsville and Loyal are now tied at 7-3 in ECC play. Loyal is 10-3 overall, while the Warriors fall to 8-5 overall.
