Goerlitz Scores 31 In Blackhawk Win

Josiah Goerlitz had a game high 31 points leading Owen-Withee to a 60-41 win over Neillsville in ECC boys basketball on Thursday night.The Hawks took advantage of numerous Warrior turnovers and missed shots and held a commanding 34-13 lead heading into the locker room at halftime. Goerlitz had 12 first half points.
In the second half, Neillsville came out with a little more fire, but Owen-Withee was able to weather their charge and the Warriors never were able to get their deficit under double digits. Neillsville went to the free throw line 23 times in the second half but made only 11. Goerlitz had 19 points in the second half including 10-14 from the free throw line.
Kole Karaba also scored in double figures for the Hawks finishing with 11 points. Jake Kunze had 13 points, all in the second half, to lead Neillsville.
The Warriors fall to 6-2 in the Eastern Cloverbelt Conference while Owen-Withee improved to 5-3.
