Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 -- 9:58 PM

The Neillsville girls basketball team won their 7th in a row with a 44-39 victory at Spencer on Tuesday night.

The Warriors and Rockets were back and forth in a close first half until Neillsville's Ashlee Diestler came off the bench and drained a couple of three's late in the half to help her team to a 24-19 halftime lead. Diestler finished the half with 10 points.

Neillsville (8-2, 6-1) would maintain their lead throughout the second half led by Kayla Lis, Mindy Schoengarth and Dani Pfieffer who all had 6 points in the half and thanks to some late free throws by Schoengarth and Morgan Hauge, the Warriors were able to withstand a late Spencer charge to get the 5 point win.

Schoengarth led the way with 11 points, Pfieffer and Diestler had 10 points and Lis added 9 for Neillsville. Sydney Kind led Spencer (5-3, 4-2) with a game high 14 points and Macie Weber added 11 points.
