Lindner Ties Career High In Win

Tuesday, November 17th, 2015 -- 8:07 AM

Sophomore Jenny Lindner of Neillsville tied her career high with 25 points and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball team led from the opening possession and never looked back in topping UMKC, 70-48, in the season opener Monday night.

"She played outstanding," Milwaukee head coach Kyle Rechlicz said. "She embodies what we want, somebody who plays with that grit. Someone who takes her time and is patient on the offensive end to get the right shots. I was really proud of her and it's not even that, she brought it from the rebounding standpoint too."

Lindner added a game-high 10 rebounds to record her fourth career double-double. She actually equaled her career-best by the end of the third period with the 25 points but never had an opportunity to break it ? she did not even attempt a field goal in the fourth quarter. Her 10-of-12 field-goal shooting (.833 FG%) marked the third-best in a single-game in school history.

Lindner took over in the third period, scoring eight straight points to take the lead from 46-31 to 54-31 and essentially putting the game away for the Panthers.

The Panthers are off for the rest of the week, getting set to prepare for three games in Florida over Thanksgiving week. Up next is a stop at Florida Atlantic next Tuesday
