Wuethrich Signs D1 Scholarship With University of Washington

Greenwood native Wes Wuethrich has signed a Division 1 scholarship to attend the University of Washington to play baseball.Wes has played baseball the past several years at Madison College and now he'll get a chance to play in the Pac-12 against the likes of Arizona, Arizona St., UCLA and more big name D1 universities.
Wes said he will play there for a year, maybe two and then hopefully get drafted by a Major League team. He did have some discussions with the Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins this year, but nothing materialized.
Wuethrich had been playing for the Madison Mallards in the Northwoods League before the staff at Washington said he had to quit to save his arm. He will start school at Washington at the end of September.
Wes was the winning pitcher for Greenwood in the 2013 Division 4 State Championship game vs. Lake Country Lutheran.
