Neillsville Booster Club Fastpitch Softball Tourney Results

The Neillsville Booster Club held their "24th Annual," Fastpitch Softball Tournament on Saturday, July 18th in Neillsville.Sixteen teams competed in the daylong tourney which saw 24 games contested.
In the "Varsity" division, WCCV Lady Starz of Cashton/Westby/Coon Valley/Viroqua area reigned as champion with a perfect 3-0 record. Placing second were the Spencer Rockets while the Neillsville Warriors who were coached by Robin & Cassie Harder & Courtney Poeschel placed third with a 1-2 record. Members of the local squad included: Kaelyn & Krista Krultz, Mindy Schoengarth, Malory Zickert, Emily & Erin Voigt, Corrtney Schmidt, Ashlee Diestler, Molly Klein & Dani Pfeiffer. Auburndale placed fourth in the bracket.
In the 14 & under bracket, the Rapids Rage, Blair-Taylor & WCCV Starz all tied for first with 2-1 records. The Neillsville squad fought hard the entire day but unfortunately couldn't pull out a victory. The squad coached by Carrie Schmidt, Sunni Opelt and Missy Stockheimer included: Brianna Roehl, Morgan Bethea, Riana Huth, Lizzy Springer, Isabella Kapusta, Alli Schoengarth, Callie Schmidt, & Kayla Oldham.
In the 12 & under bracket the WCCV Lady Starz reigned supreme with Rapids Rage placing second. The Lady Warriors picked up third place a 1-2 record, just being edged out by the Lady Starz 5-7 in the final game which with a victory, would have given them a share of the championship. Members of the local team included: Terren Stockheimer, Bianca Fischer, Courtney Oldham, Bella Opelt, Emily Hanson, Riley Voigt, Olivia Friemoth, Catrina Craig, Allison King, Kaia Moseid, Ellie Moseid, Kaitlin Thoma and Jaden Barth. Blair Taylor finished in 4th place with a 0-3 record. Missy Stockheimer, Sunni Opelt and Carrie Schmidt skippered the team.
In the final bracket, the 10 & under, The Lady Warriors of Neillsville claimed a share of first place as they finished 2-1. Also tieing for the top spot were WCCV Lady Starz & Blair Taylor while the final team in the bracket, Stratford finished their day with a 0-3 record. Members of the talented local squad who are coached by Josh Johnson, Travis Mortenson and Ricky Rochester include: Delainey Johnson, Kylie Boyer, Emma Moseley, Amelia Trunkel, Kati Mayer, Lauren Langreck, Delaney Rochester, Abby Mathis, Morgan Gurney, Callie Mohr, Ava Mortenson, Heaven Hainz, Amanda Schneider, & Lainey Horn.
The Booster Club would like to thank the many volunteers who helped make the tourney a huge success. All profits are used to support youth sports at Neillsville Schools.
