Grottke And Other Area Athletes Advance To State

Neillsville/Granton's Matt Grottke has advanced to the State Track & Field Meet after finishing 3rd in the shot put at the Bloomer Sectional..Grottke finished 3rd with a put of just over 52 feet. He will now participate in the shot put in Division 2 at the State Meet coming up next Friday and Saturday in LaCrosse.
Other area athletes advancing to State include:
Division 2:
Black River Falls: Jacob Gerzsik and Garrett Gjerseth in the 100 meter dash and Miranda Jessie in the triple jump.
Division 3:
Spencer: Abby Varsho in the high jump, Noah Zastrow and Rachel in the pole vault, and Paige Lawrence in the 400 meter dash
Pittsville: Taylor Pralle in the 200 meter dash, Kyle Kolar in the 800 meter run and the girls 4 X 800 meter relay team.
Loyal: Morgan Malm in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and the high jump, Lane Meyer in the 400 meter dash and the boys 4 X 800 meter relay team.
Mfld Columbus: Alexandra Hutchison in the 100 and 200 meter dash, and the girls 4 X 100 meter relay team
Owen-Withee: Albert Goertlitz in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.
Division 1:
Marshfield: Keiron Howlett and Matt Oestreich in the long jump and triple jump, Howlett also in the 110 meter hurdles, Martha Kupfer in the 400 meter dash and Rebecca Voss in the 3200 meter run.
