Neillsville Girls Softball Advances To Regional Final

The Neillsville girls softball team advanced to the Regional Final after a 4-2 win over Lake Holcombe/Cornell on Tuesday.The Warriors scored first on an RBI single by Jenny Lindner in the 1st inning.
Lake Holcombe/Cornell took the lead after 2 runs scored in the 3rd inning. Neillsville came right back to tie the score at 2 in the bottom of the 3rd on an RBI single off the bat of Taylor Henchen.
Neillsville then scored one in the 4th and another in the 5th to complete the scoring.
Allie Pfieffer went the distance on the mound giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 8 and walking 2. Offensively for the Warriors, Samantha Larrabee, Katelyn Crothers, and Taylor Henchen all went 2 for 4. Larrabee also had 2 runs scored.
Neillsville will now take on Fall Creek, who downed Osseo-Fairchild 16-6 in 5 innings, in the Regional Final on Thursday at Neillsville at 5 pm. You can hear it live on 1370 AM WCCN.
