Opelt Named "Freshman Athlete Of The Year"

Phil Opelt of Neillsville was named "Freshman Athlete Of The Year" on Monday at Cornell College in Iowa.Phil finished 23-14 in his freshman year of wrestling at Cornell College. He placed third at regionals and finished 1-2 in his NCAA debut at 133 pounds.
Opelt was also recognized as being named a National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American.
