Opelt Competes In NCAA Div. III Wrestling Championships

Phillip Opelt of Neillsville, a freshman at Cornell College in Iowa competed today at 133 pounds in the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids Iowa.In his first match of the day he lost to two-time defending national champion, Kenny Anderson (Wartburg) by major decision 14-3.
In his Prelim, Opelt won by decision over Jaydon Rice (Hunter) Dec 9-8 and then Phil lost in the Cons. Round 1 to Nathaniel Giorgio (Coast Guard) by tech fall -1.5 4:53 (16-0)
