Pointers and Warhawks In The NCAA Men's Basketball "Sweet 16"

For the first time since 2000, the WIAC will have two teams in the "Sweet 16" of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship after University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and UW-Whitewater posted second round wins on Saturday.The Pointers upended Central College (Iowa), 76-71, at Quandt Fieldhouse in Stevens Point, while the Warhawks posted a 87-68 victory over Augustana College (Ill.) at Kachel Gym in Whitewater.
In sectional semifinal contests on March 14, UW-Stevens Point (28-1) will meet Emory University (Ga.) (18-8), while UW-Whitewater (25-4) will face University of Texas-Dallas (27-3). Location and times of both games will be announced later.
