Neillsville Girls Are Regional Champs

The Neillsville girls basketball team won their Regional Championship with a 43-32 win over Durand on Saturday night in Neillsville.It wasn't easy for the Warriors (24-0) as they led by just one 8-7 after one quarter. After a 4-1 advantage in the second quarter, Neillsville led 12-8 at the half.
The Warriors were outscored by Durand in the 3rd quarter 11-10 and their lead was just three at 22-19 going into the fourth quarter. Seniors Katelyn Crothers sparked the Warriors in the fourth along with Jenny Lindner as Neillsville outscored Durand 21-13 to pull out the victory.
Crothers finished with a game high 18 points and Lindner added 15. Morganne Gruber led Durand with 15 points while Megan Grochowski added 12
Neillsville moves on to play Arcadia, who beat G-E-T 49-36, in a Sectional Semi-final on Thursday night at Osseo-Fairchild at 7pm. You can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
