Neillsville Boys Advance To Regional Semi-final

The Neillsville boys basketball team has advanced to a Division 3 Regional Semi-final after their 53-36 win over Viroqua on Tuesday night.After a close first quarter which saw the Warriors up 10-9, they went on to outscore Viroqua 15-10 in the second quarter to take a 25-19 lead into the locker room. Michael Dux led the Warriors with 9 points in the half.
In the 3rd quarter Neillsville started to pull away as they led by 8 going into the fourth quarter. In the 4th, the Warriors outscored the Blackhawks 17-8 to make the final 53-36.
Neillsville had 3 players in double figures, led by Matt Grottke with 14, Dux with 13 and Neal Matson with 12. Viroqua only had 3 players score and two of those, Tyler Bentz and Jeremy Lee, scored 15 apiece.
Neillsville improves to 16-7 and will now go on the road to take on No. 2 seeded G-E-T on Friday night at 7pm. You can hear it live on 92.7 FM WPKG.
