Coyotes Heading To State!

The Clark County Coyotes are heading to the State Youth Hockey Tournament for the first time after beating Sparta in a Region 6 Squirt 4A Playdown on Saturday in Sparta 8-1.The Coyotes lost to Sparta earlier in the year in overtime but coach Henry Berry said this time around they played better as a team. The Coyotes led 3-1 after one period and 5-1 going into the final frame. They scored 3 goals in the final 4 minutes to get the 8-1 victory.
Coach Berry said his team seems to play better in the big games. Earlier in the year the Coyotes won the West Salem tournament and Berry said the team played really well there too.
Now it?s on to the State Tournament where the Coyotes will be playing teams they have never played before. Viroqua, which beat Sparta for the Wild Card on Sunday will be there along with Cumberland, Marinette, and host Shawano among others. Coach Berry said he feels the Coyotes can play with anybody and their excited for the opportunity to play at State in March.
He invites everyone out to see the Coyotes in action this Tuesday night at O?Neill Ice Arena as they take on Sparta in a league game starting at 6:30 pm. The Clark County County Youth Hockey program will also have a Steak Feed Fundraiser coming up this Saturday at the American Legion Post 73 in Neillsville starting at 4 pm.
