Marshfield Man Makes First Trip To Camp Randall

Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 -- 6:59 AM

Rich Hohl, or "Rueben" of Marshfield has been a WIAA Official for high school football for 23 years, but he has never been to Camp Randall Stadium in Madison until this year.

Over the years he?s been offered tickets to see the Badgers play in Madison, but he?s always said his first experience at Camp Randall would be as an official and this year he gets that opportunity. Rich and his crew have been selected to officiate the Division 6 State Championship between Shiocton and Darlington on Thursday afternoon at 1 pm.

Seeing it?s his first trip to Camp Randall Rich is most excited about the championship atmosphere at Camp Randall. Jokingly he said falling on the turf would be his biggest fear in the game.

Being in the business for 23 years, Rich says officiating is not about the money but about working with the young kids. He said if your serious about getting to officiating, it?s worth every bit that you put into it.

Again look for Rich Hohl and his crew at Camp Randall on Thursday as they officiate the Div. 6 Championship game starting at 1 pm.
