Opelt Wrestles At Luther Open

Phillip Opelt of Neillsville wrestled at the Luther Open at Decorah, Iowa on Saturday where he finished 4-1 on the day.Opelt, now wrestling at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, participated in the freshman division at 133 pounds.
He started the day with a bye and then won by a 9-7 decision over Cole Parmely of Luther College in his second match. He then lost to Conner Campo of Wartburg College in a quarterfinal match 17-7. Opelt than beat Brennen Russell of Luther College 12-2 in the consoltaton bracket and then won on a fall over Cole Parmely and then decisioned Nathan Shank of Cornell College 10-7.
Because of number dual matches coming up this week, Phil?s day had to stop there. He will be participating in the Iowa Duals this Friday.
