Gordon Wells

Gordon P. Wells, 84, of Neillsville, WI, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI

He was born May 29, 1938, in Harvard, IL.  Gordie was united in marriage to Kathleen (Kathy) Bender Dykstra on December 29, 1978.  

After high school, Gordie served in the Army Reserves from February 20, 1958 to February 19, 1964.  He was in the grocery business for 55 years.  He was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler, and Chicago Bears & Cubs fan.  He was known for his sense of humor and outgoing personality.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathy; son, Russell (Donna) Wells of Huntley, IL; daughter, Peggie (John) Campbell of Huntley, IL; daughter, Tina (Jeff) Pflum of McHenry, IL; grandchildren, Abbi (Larry) Hanson; Amber (Russell) Matthes; great grandchildren, Haylee, Lukas & Jayce Hanson; Jacob & Lylah Fox, Brendan, Kash & Benjamen Matthes; sister, Joan Flint; and brother-in-law & fishing buddy, Billy Bender; and many nieces & nephews.

Gordie was preceded in death by his parents, Earle & Irma (Redpath) Wells and siblings, Shirley (Harold) Wright, Beverly (Ray) Pokershing, Bill (Elsie) Wells, Jack (Marion) Wells, Donald (Anne) Wells, brother & sister-in-law, LeRoy & Rosie Mather.

Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Gordie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart Critical Care Center for the kind and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in Gordie’s name to American Cancer Society or Clark County Humane Society.
