Clark County Health Department Answers Some FAQs About Coronavirus Vaccine

Wednesday, February 10th, 2021 -- 10:01 AM

The Clark County Health Department is providing answers to some frequently asked questions regarding the coronavirus vaccine.

The Health Department states that people should get vaccinated because the current vaccines have shown that they are effective at preventing COVID-19, may help you avoid serious illness if you do get COVID-19, and it may protect the people around you.

After you get the COVID vaccine, should you continue the precautions in place during this pandemic?  Yes, and that’s because there is limited information on how much the vaccine may reduce transmission and how long protection lasts.

You should continue to follow the guidelines in place at all times even after you receive the vaccine.  Of course, those precautions include quarantine if in close contact, wash your hands, physically distance, cover coughs/sneezes, follow work and school guidelines, wear a mask, sanitize surfaces, and get tested if you’re symptomatic.
