Neillsville High School Students Complete 2012 National Financial Capabilities Challenge

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012 -- 9:07 AM

-Some Neillsville High School finance students recently completed the 2012 National Financial Capabilities Challenge.

The National Financial Capability Challenge is an awards program designed to increase the financial knowledge and capability of high school aged youth across the United States. It incentivizes educators to teach the basics of personal finance to their students by rewarding students, educators, schools, and states for their participation and their successes. Educators and top-scoring students receive award certificates, and schools and states with the highest participation rates earn special distinction.

Finishing in the top 20 percent of students nationwide were Anthony Meshnick, Nicholas Thoma, Collin Brunner, Taylor Murphy, Maggie Heiman, Lindsey Kuhn, Elizabeth Mansour, Sarah Poeschel.

The challenge is offered annually and gives students a chance to see how prepared they are for the financial future that awaits them.
