Greenwood Takes a Trip to Medieval Times

-Stepping into the east gym of the Greenwood High School on Friday was like stepping back into medieval times.The Greenwood students, under the guidance of high school English teacher, Steven Renfree, set up many displays and booths representing different aspects of medieval life and culture. Mr. Renfree has put on the banquet for many years, but it was the first year he did it with Greenwood and was thrilled to see the effort they put into it.
Students and teachers were dressed up in medieval fashion and members of the community came in and observed everything going on. There was the tossing of the bread for the king and queen, blessing of the royal goat, and a presentation by In Capable Hands, performers that have been on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The banquet was planned for months and put together early in the week. Each group of students had their own table to watch and had to bring in their own items to decorate. Several different grades and classes helped put the banquet together.
Some other performances included skits, singing, and a Spanish version of Green Eggs and Ham.
