Fallen Firefighter, Jamison Kampmeyer

-We have some more background information on Jamison Kampmeyer, 34, the firefighter that lost his life over the weekend battling a blaze at the Abby Theatre.

Jamison Kampmeyer started as a Deputy Sheriff with the Marathon County Sheriff?s Department in 2004. Besides his normal duties as a Patrol Deputy Sheriff, Jamison was involved in other aspects of the department. Jamison was a member of the Sheriff?s Department SWAT Team filling the role as a Team EMT. Jamison was also a member of the Department?s Honor Guard. Jamison filled the role of Law Enforcement Trainer in the areas of CPR and Defense and Arrest Tactics. Jamison was one of the Department?s Field Training Officers, tutoring and mentoring newly hired Deputy Sheriff staff.

Jamison was an instructor at Northcentral Technical College for the Basic Recruit Academy and other Police Science Programs.

Jamison continued his role of being an active member of the community by being a volunteer Firefighter/EMT with the Colby Fire Department.

Jamison is survived by his wife and three minor children and a memorial fund has been set up in his honor. His funeral is scheduled for March 9th.
