Thiede Back in the Area

(Neillsville, Wis.) Gary Thiede will be back in the area next week.

Thiede was convicted of the 1988 murder of 16-year-old Robert Aponte in Jackson County. He was later convicted of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl he knew in Clark County.

He was released from prison in 2010 and had resided at a residence in the Town of Washburn until this July when he was apprehended for violating conditions of his extended supervision by viewing pornographic images on his cell phone.

After receiving treatment, Thiede will be re-released to the residence at W4780 Blueberry Rd., south of Neillsville on Wednesday, January 11.

According to the Clark County Sheriff?s Department, Thiede will be supervised by WI Dept. of Correction agents specializing in intensive supervision. And has several conditions of supervision, including: no unsupervised contact with minors, he may not be in a place whose primary business is the sale of alcohol, no contact with any of his victims or their family members and he is not to consume any alcohol or drugs. He is to comply with the standard sex offender rules, cooperate with electronic monitoring, face-to-face contact with Law Enforcement required and to comply with all requirements and will be a registrant of the WI Sex Offender Registration Program.

Thiede will remain under the supervision of the WI Dept. of Corrections until Sept. 2nd, 2016.
