Saturday A Day To "Shop Small"

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011 -- 9:00 AM

This Saturday, November 26th is Small Business Saturday.

Sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the 2nd annual Small Business Saturday has the support of the Better Business Bureau.

"It's the bread and butter of our economy," explains Ran Hoth, President and CEO of the BBB serving Wisconsin, "and it's something the Better Business Bureau feels strongly about: making sure consumers don't forget all the local business people that offer great customer service and wonderful, competitive products and services."

Hoth says small businesses overwhelmingly agree to the BBB?s ?Code of Business Practices."

"Between 80 and 90 percent of the accredited businesses in Wisconsin are small businesses with between one to 10, or 10 to 25," Hoth notes, "so, I think the proof is in the pudding."

Hoth says customers tend to get better service from locally-owned businesses and those business owners tend to respond more quickly to complaints.
