HOW OLD IS TOO OLD TO DRIVE?

Sunday, March 27th, 2011 -- 8:54 AM

According to the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation, there are no laws that put limits on "how old is too old". In Wisconsin, laws focus on a driver's functional ability regardless of age. Motorists are responsible for making sure their health is stable enough to be safe behind the wheel. While the state doesn't require physicians to report unsafe drivers, it does encourage voluntary reporting from doctors, law enforcement, and the general public. If the DOT receives a report that indicates a driver may have a medical condition that would interfere with driving, it may request medical reports, written exams or road tests. Anyone who has had a license canceled for a medical reason can appeal the decision to a Medical Review Board.
