NEILLSVILLE WOMAN ACCUSED OF THREATENING JUDGE

Monday, February 28th, 2011 -- 11:58 AM

A 42-year-old Neillsville woman is charged with threatening Clark County Circuit Court Judge Jon Counsell.

According to a criminal complaint filed on Friday, Lori Armbrust threatened to kill Counsell in a letter he received last week.

In the letter, Armbrust refers to Counsell as a number of derogatory names and writes, ?I want to stab you 200 times or until you are dead, which ever comes first.? She does conclude the letter ?Sincerely, Lori Armbrust.?

In an interview with police, Armbrust admits she wrote the letter and another that was intercepted by a Clark County Community Services employee. She said she wasn?t sure why she wrote the letters, she just knew she wanted Counsell dead. And said she would ?probably? make more threats to the Judge in the future.

She appeared in court on Friday and is being held on a $2,000 cash bond.
If convicted, she could spend 12 years in prison and be fined up to $10,000.
