UP FOR GRABS

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010 -- 11:41 AM

From WRN:

After months of almost endless campaign ads, debates, and tours around the state, Wisconsin voters have a chance to make their voices heard today.

Officials with the state Government Accountability Board are predicting moderate turnout at the polls, with about half of eligible voters expected to cast ballots. GAB Director Kevin Kennedy says it's about 20-percent less than the number of people who came to the polls in 2008, but around what Wisconsin typically sees in a year without a presidential election on the ballot.

Voters will have a wide range of offices and ballot initiatives to vote on today, with the fate of one of 'Wisconsin's' U.S. Senate seats and the Governor?s office among the top contests on the statewide level. Also on the ballot are the offices of Attorney General, Secretary of State, and State Treasurer.

Congressional and Statehouse races will be on the minds of many voters, as will local referenda questions on everything from commuter rail to school levy increases.

Kennedy is reminding the public that they can still register or update their voter information at the polls. All they?ll need is a current drivers license, bank statement, or utility bill to verify their address.
