CLARK CO.'S UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IMPROVES

The area?s unemployment rate is slightly better than it was last year at this time.According to the latest jobless numbers released by the Department of Workforce Development, Clark County?s unemployment rate in September was 7.6%, down from 8% last September and 8.7% in August.
Clark County has the 25th highest unemployment rate in the state.
Elsewhere in the area, Wood County had an unemployment rate of 6.7%, Marathon County has a rate of 7.2%, Jackson County has a rate of 6.9% and Eau Claire County has a rate of 5.9%.
