NO UTVs ON CLARK CO. TRAILS THIS YEAR

UTVs won?t be allowed on Clark County?s ATV trail system this year.Meeting on Thursday, the Forestry and Parks committee took no action on the issue.
Trails coordinator Brian Duell the larger, slower UTVs, or ?side-by-sides? represent the "evolution" of the ATV. A lot of people are interested in the vehicles, which seat 2 people. They include the Yamaha Rhino, Polaris Ranger and Kawasaki Mule.
There?s currently a statewide pilot program allowing Utility Terrain Vehicles on ATV trails, but counties have to opt in.
Duell says they?ll continue to investigate their options and will likely revisit the issue before the start of next year?s ATV season.
