ONE BEACH CLOSES, ANOTHER REOPENS

Some good news and bad news for area swimmers.The good news: Russell Park public beach in Hatfield has reopened to swimmers. Health officials closed it earlier this week due to high levels of E. coli bacteria.
The bad news: Now Snyder park beach has been closed. Again, routine water samples indicate high bacteria levels. Swimming will be closed until water samples improve.
Health officials believe heavy rainfall may have contributed to the increased bacteria counts.
