BOY DIES AFTER FALL FROM ROPE SWING

A 16-year-old Chippewa Falls boy is dead after falling from a cliff into the water below.The victim was swinging from a rope on a 20-foot high cliff near Lake Wissota.
He apparently swung out on the rope, did not let go, swung back and struck the cliff and fell into the water.
Rescuers responded to the call at 6:18 p.m. The victims body was recovered at around 9 p.m.
His identity has been withheld, pending notification of family members.
