AREA VETS HONORED

Neillsville students gave area veterans a well deserved pat on the back Wednesday morning.Students and staff gathered in the Fieldhouse for a ceremony, which featured patriotic music from the high school band and a keynote address given by VFW leader Dewey Seelow.
"Today's important because we choose to honor living veterans from the Greatest Generation to the latest generation," he said.
He recalled the words of Pres. George Washington. "The willingness with which our young people will fight in any war, no matter how justified, will be directly proportional as to how they perceive how veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their country."
And the praise shouldn't be saved just for veterans, Seelow continued.
"There is often an extraordinary family that supports and extraordinary veteran," he said.
