A local lawmaker is touting the passage of one of his bills.Rep. Scott Suder (R-Abbotsford) says newer-model ATVs could be rolling down state trails soon after bill unanimously passed the state Assembly Thursday.
If the bill is signed by Gov. Jim Doyle, the legal definition of an ATV will be updated to allow newer, larger models to access state trails in hopes of attracting more tourism dollars to the state.
Suder has worked with a number of local ATV dealers and enthusiasts who want the current law changed.
The bill is supported by the Wisconsin ATV Association, the Wisconsin County Forests Association, Polaris Industries, and the Wisconsin Powersport Dealers Association.
