Authorities Release Name of Man Found Dead North of Spencer

Authorities have released the name of the man found dead north of Spencer.

According to investigators, trappers found the body of 20-year-old Christian Schauer of Marshfield near Abe Lincoln Avenue and Swamp Road on the northern end of McMillian Marsh Wildlife Area.

Investigators are treating Schauer’s death as a homicide.  They believe Schauer was killed somewhere else and the body was left there.  They are looking for a vehicle that belonged to Schauer and they believe whoever has it may be armed and dangerous.

The vehicle is a 2005 Black Chevy Impala with Wisconsin license plates AHT-6900.  An autopsy was conducted Wednesday.  If you have any information about this case, you’re urged to call 911. You may also remain anonymous by calling CrimeStoppers.
