A Clark County community needs a huge utility upgrade to keep up with its biggest industry.Abbyland Foods needs more water. The village of Curtiss needs $2.6 million in utility improvements to meet the demand.
They've filed a request with the Wisconsin Public Service Commission to construct a 200,000-gallon water tower, drill four new wells, rehabilitate its four 33-year-old wells, install 3,200 feet of water main and increase the size of the water treatment plant.
Abblyand Pork Pack uses up to 254,000 gallons per day; the current water utility can only store 143,640 gallons.
Curtiss has a population of around 200.
